AutoFlip Revs Up Global Expansion With First Franchise Signing in NZ

IDOM Innovations, a subsidiary of IDOM Japan and the driving force behind the innovative automotive marketplace, AutoFlip, proudly announces its groundbreaking foray into the New Zealand market. The strategic partnership with New Zealand industry heavy weights, Patrick Davey and Ken Quigley of Davey New Zealand marks a significant leap in AutoFlip's global expansion plans.

Established just 2.5 years ago, AutoFlip empowers the selling and buying of cars by connecting private sellers and automotive businesses with an extensive network of licensed dealers.

In that short time, the company has evolved into a thriving force, boasting a dedicated team of over 65 employees and a network of more than 850 licensed dealers located across Australia. And its growth trajectory continues, recently achieving $135 million in vehicle sales since inception and is on track to achieve year on year revenue growth of over 100% in 2023.

AutoFlip selected Melbourne as its global headquarters and with the support of Invest Victoria has tapped into Victoria’s vibrant tech ecosystem to create new and innovative technologies in the automotive space.

Today, AutoFlip celebrates a major milestone with the announcement of its first franchise in New Zealand, a testament to its rapid growth and commitment to shaping the future of selling and buying cars.

The latest chapter in AutoFlip's success story unfolds with Ken and Patrick, two seasoned entrepreneurs who bring a wealth of experience to the table. Between them, Ken and Patrick boast more than 40 years of experience in the automotive space including owning and operating the successful Portage Cars.

Takayoshi Udagawa, chief executive officer at AutoFlip said "We’re thrilled to take this first step in the evolution of AutoFlip and extend our best wishes to Ken and Patrick as they spearhead the AutoFlip brand and business in New Zealand."

Navigating the unique challenges of the New Zealand automotive landscape, AutoFlip sought local partners who not only understood the intricacies of the market but shared the company's unwavering vision. The year-long journey from an initial online meeting, has culminated in a partnership that promises not just commercial success but an exciting future of automotive growth and innovation.

Ken Quigley commented “Both Patrick and I are very excited for the opportunity to be in partnership with such an innovative company. With the success of AutoFlip in Australia, it was a natural fit for New Zealand. Dealers are always struggling to find stock at a fair price. This platform will definitely change the landscape moving forward”.

This franchise signing is not just a business milestone but a genuine partnership that represents a shared vision for a more connected and efficient solution for selling and buying cars. The collaboration leverages the technology and operational model developed in Australia to further meet the evolving needs of the industry, for both consumers and dealers.

Licensed vehicle dealers located in New Zealand are encouraged to register their interest in joining the New Zealand dealer network now at www.autoflip.co.nz before the New Zealand platform officially launches to private sellers in February 2024.

As AutoFlip accelerates into new territories, it reaffirms its commitment to continue to reshape the automotive market by delivering the smartest automotive marketplace.
